Plain-language terms for using Scrapely. The short version: scrape public data lawfully, keep your keys safe, and your credits are yours until you spend them.
The agreement
These terms are an agreement between you (or the organisation you represent) and Scrapely. By creating an account, calling the API or buying credits, you accept them.
If you are using Scrapely on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you are authorised to bind it to these terms.
Accounts and API keys
You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your API keys secret. Rotate a key immediately if you believe it has been exposed; requests made with a valid key are treated as yours.
You must provide accurate account information and keep your contact email current so we can reach you about your account.
Credits and payment
Scrapely is pay-as-you-go. You buy credit packs at the prices shown on the pricing page at the time of purchase. Credits do not expire and are not tied to any recurring billing period.
Each successful request spends the credits listed for the features it used. Requests we fail to complete after retries are not charged; credits reserved for them are returned to your balance automatically.
Credits have no cash value, cannot be transferred between accounts and are not refundable except where required by law or where we agree otherwise in writing.
Acceptable use
You may use Scrapely to collect publicly available information for lawful purposes. You may not use it to access content behind authentication you are not authorised to use, to collect or process personal data unlawfully, to infringe intellectual property, or to overload, disrupt or attack any website.
You are responsible for complying with the laws that apply to you and with the terms of the sites you collect from, to the extent they bind you. We may suspend traffic to specific targets, or accounts, that we reasonably believe violate this section.
Service availability
We work hard to keep the API fast and available and publish live status at /status. We do not guarantee that any particular target site can be retrieved, as sites change their defences without notice.
We may change, add or retire features. We will give reasonable notice before removing a documented API parameter or endpoint.
Liability
The service is provided “as is”. To the extent permitted by law, our total liability arising from these terms is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
Neither party is liable for indirect or consequential losses, including lost profits or data.
Termination
You may close your account at any time from the dashboard. We may suspend or close accounts that breach these terms. On closure for reasons other than your breach, we will refund unused purchased credits on request.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced by email and on this page at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after that date means you accept the updated terms.
